Road Bear is a traditional RV rental company that has been in the industry for nearly 40 years, but maintains a relatively small fleet and outlet network, with 7 outlets spread across the continental USA. All RVs rented through Road Bear are at least 2016-17 models. This means fewer total miles and a lower chance of experiencing mechanical problems during your trip.

There are plenty of things to like about Road Bear’s rental offering. Road Bear not only provides guaranteed new RVs, but their services offering is up there with the best of their competitors. Road Bear provides one-way rental opportunities between their rental outlet locations (i.e., you can pick up your RV in Denver and drop it off in Los Angeles). The company also provides free airport transfers so that you don’t have to pay for the commute in (if you’re flying into the region). Finally, Road Bear’s staff will take you on a vehicle walk-through once you pick up your RV, to help ensure that you are accustomed to the vehicle and that any questions you have will be answered.
Road Bear’s RV selection and network reach are likely to disappoint some prospective renters. Because Road Bear only operates 7 outlets, it may not be feasible to rent from them based on the expected route of your next trip. Also, if you’re looking for an ultra-compact Class B van chassis RV, or a trailer, then you’ll have to look elsewhere.
- All RVs in Road Bear’s fleet are equipped with awnings, generators, and entertainment systems.
- The rental rate includes basic liability insurance coverage. You can pay extra for “VIP” insurance coverage, however.
- Much of the customer service staff is multilingual.
- In the off-season, Road Bear runs various discount promotions on their website. Check it out!
