how to caulk roof of my recreational vehicle?
25 foot travel trailer (camper).has rubber roof. developed leak cause of faulty caulking(old).want to re caulk myself.any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.P.S.using caulk approved for rubber roof.used chemical and pressure washer to clean old debris from old caulking.now waiting for to completly dry .will hope for advice while waiting for roof to dry.thanks in advance...P.S.S i plan to caulk over top of old caulk cause when i tried to remove old caulk i was ripping rubber roof...

1. have a wet rag with you to keep your finger moist and to wipe caulk off your finger, and areas you dont want it, but lay a pretty even bead first, then wet your index finger, keep wetting it and run your finger over top of it gently pressing it into the edges, i recently resealed the roof of a church bus, the wet rag will greatly help you just make sure you got a nice thick bead on it,
2. Clean the surface really well with some rubbing alcohol. 3M 4200 Marine sealant is about the best stuff you can use to redo it. 5200 is permanent and good for repairs of loose seams and torn rubber.
If you want really clean lines just use some masking tape and peel it off as soon as you lay the caulk down.
