Where in the US would you recomend I take a vacation on an RV with my kids age 12,8 and 1 year old?

We are planing a family vacation next July. The kids love the idea of using an RV it is going to be their first time. Where do we take them so we can travel around, see new places and also find nice camp grounds with places to maybe swim or have fun after a long day of driving?Any ideas?Thank you in advance.

1. Adirondack Mountains in upstate N.Y. but you need to make your reservations NOW. You'll absolutley love it up there.

2. Well, I am absolutely NOT an RV kind of person myself. But, if I were, I'd think that the Grand Canyon area would be a good choice. I don't know if you can park at RV at the North Rim or not, but if you can, it's so nice up there. MUCH quieter than the South Rim. cooler, too.

Another good area would be in and around Rocky Mountain National Park, up in the Loveland, CO area.

Both of these choices would have many interesting possibilities for your older two kids. In all honesty, it won't matter where you take the one year old. At that age, they're pretty easy to keep happy... just get those naps and keep them fed, right? <g>

3. It depends on what you and your kids are interested in, but you can't go wrong with the Black Hills of South Dakota. You can visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse as well as taking a tour of Bear Country USA. There is a Reptile Gardens, Cave of the Winds and so on. No matter your interest, there really is something for everyone. KOA has a great park at the foot of Mount Rushmore that is a town in itself with restaurants, horse stable and even a water park for the kids. We have a link to KOA parks on our site at WWW.RVROOKIE.COM
