I was RIPPED OFF from ABC Motorhome Rentals in Anchorage AK. ANyone else out there with the same complaint?

$240.00 a day rental fee.. $500.00 dollar deposit on a class C MH. Advertised as fully equiped and ready to go. IF you call I roll on toilet paper fully equiped then I SHOULD have been in hog heaven.. Could go on for ever and ever IF you are thinking of rentinfg an RV STAY AWAY FROM ABC Rentals.

1. Actually, I've never even been to Alaska. But thanks for letting me know about the bad service. I'll know to keep away from there.

Have you written a bad review in the local section on Yahoo? I'm sure it would help others too.

2. I don't think you could expect them to furnish your groceries...and if you agreed to a rental contract by signing it, how can you say you were ripped off? Deposits are very normal in the rental business, and you're using a $40-50,000 motor home...

Sorry, I guess I don't understand your question or rant.

3. Chilkoot Charlie's, a bar/shop in Anchorage, advertises:

"We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you!"

Maybe you were "the other guy"?

Most people I've meet driving those rental rigs around up here seem happy enough with them. I mean, except when they're gassing them up!

"Fully-equipped" to me would mean pots and pans and dishes and utensils for four people; bed linens and pillows; towels; Radio/CD; maybe TV; decent maps of the state and of major tourist areas. Spare tire, jack, flares. 120-volt invertor for small eletronics.

It wouldn't include groceries, fishing and hunting gear, canoe, etc. Maybe simple spices but probably not - just clean cupboards.

Basically, what you get in a hotel room with kitchenette plus four wheels, no more, no less.

If you put it on your credit card, you could contest the charge and they won't get their payment until it is settled.
