Is there a gas savings between and RV and pulling a travel trailer?

We currently have a Class A Motorhome (RV) and are considering trading it and getting a pull behind travel trailer instead. We are thinking of doing this to get some gas savings. We already know what mpg we get with the motorhome. How can we tell how much less mpg we would get with our truck once it would start to pull a travel trailer? We are trying to figure out if we should stick with what we have, or if it makes sense to trade to the travel trailer option. Thanks for any advice.

1. no

2. It is never easy moving down from the luxury of a Class A. Unless it is a fifth wheel you cannot ride in back while in motion. And if the truck does something unexpected you cannot run up front to see what happened. I don't think you will be happy. In order to pull a large travel trailer you will be uning a one ton truck which most likely have just as big of a Motor as your Buss. I don't know about safety studys just backing a trailer can be troublesome. Keep the big motor home as long as you can. Fuel saving is not worth the less luxury. Besides then you'll have Ford Dodge or Chevy truck to kick around
