The gestapo IRS sees fit to steal 30% of my income. But Obama cut my taxes by $66.67 a month! Wow, I can take up a cigarette habit with that!

Steve, as well informed as you have demonstrated yourself to be, perhaps you should not vote.

2. There is no way the IRS takes 30% of your income.

My wife and I have a combined income of about $120,000. We paid about $13,000 in income taxes last year (and that's just with taking the standard deduction). That amounts to just over 10%.

I believe you're confusing your top marginal rate with your overall rate.

I would add that $67/month is about $800/year, or about 2.5 times what the average person got in the Bush tax cut.

Payroll taxes include Social Security and Medicare. You will get every penny of that and more back. In fact, the average person will recoup more than three times what they pay in to those programs.

And I have no need to go online to check my calculations; I can just look at the tax return in the file cabinet to my left. However, since you asked here is a 1040 tax estimator that puts the taxes of a couple with one child and $100,000 of income and no deductions at $12,613. That is 12.6%.

7. Move to Texas and lose the state income tax. I had one of my coworkers just figure out that the so called money Obama gave us is actually taxed on our income tax. He felt so betrayed. I just told him, you never get anything from the government for free.

8. Jeez, I hate to tell you this but, if you smoke a pack of cigs a day your paying about 55.00 a month more in federal tax on your monthly supply than what you did before obama.

Guess they couldn't tell which ones of us smokers made over 250,000. a year.

9. Yes. Since April of last year, I have more money in my paycheck. Taxes are an expense, and you can actually control how much you pay. Stop your whining, and get an accountant.

10. The government confiscates 28% of my income. I'm one of the most discriminated against people in America; a white male. I'm also punished by the government for being single and not having any children. I pay in bookoodles every year and don't get child tax credits. Not to mention I don't get single's discounts on utilities, rent, car payent, (my car insurance is higher because I'm single), nor any other discounts, all while I have only one income. I have to make 1,000 a week to bring home less than 650.00. Nope, no tax cuts from Obama came my way. Matter of fact, my montly living expenses have INCREASED by 15.1% and I can trace it DIRECTLY to Obama policies. By the way, I make WAAAAY less than 250K, too.
