What are the California laws regarding growing marijuana on a rental property?
I live in a large home with 6 other people. None of us have a medical prescription for marijuana.
Our landlord, however, does have a prescription, and is going to grow a pot garden in our backyard. He does not live on the property. His house is across the street from ours.
Last month, the landlord moved a motorhome into our backyard with someone living in it. We were never asked for our consent, nor were we even notified that a motorhome and 7th resident (and his dog) would be moving onto our property. I believe that this resident, living in the motorhome in the backyard, does have a prescription for medicinal marijuana.
I'm curious on the legality of this. From what I understand, it is legal for a person with a prescription to grow their own weed. So I assume it is fine for him to grow it on his property, but what about the property we're renting? If somehow the cops were to find the plants on our property, could the tenants living in the house have problems even though none are involved?

the new tenant is probably there illegally. Code probably prohibit permanent residence in a motor home on improved property. The growing of medical marijuana, on the property that you occupy is a real problem. It could put you all at risk. I would either consult an attorney on both issues.... or, see to it that the plants never seemed to grow and thrive.
No good is coming of this new agricultural hobby.
