How much could i trade in my 2001 Forest River Sierra 30BHS RV for?
My husband and I were given a quote for our RV for only $6500 but we have seen similar RV models going for $12000. What would be a fair asking trade in value. Oh more details: fiberglass exterior, it has a full bottom bunk and single on top in the back of the rig and is in very good condition. Help!

1. I've worked in the industry for over 8 years and times are tough especially on luxury items. Not to mention banks are not financing as much as they used to. More importantly allot of banks will NOT finance recreational vehicle older than 7-10 years of age, or if the recreational vehicle manufacturer has gone out of business. With those factors along with the economy is hurting the industry and lowering the value of most rv's. Lets say the dealer did buy your rv for $6500 and sell it for $12,000, the company is not necessarily bringing in $5,500, they are more likely making a $1,500-$2,000 profit after servicing it, advertising it , detailing it & paying commissions on it. You will make more by selling on your own, at least $4,000 more, but it might take time out of your day to show it, you just have to ask yourself is the $4,000 worth it or not. The plus if you sell it yourself is you have a straight deal with the dealer with no trades to muck things up. Check the value of your RV on the link below.
