what are our rights on RV rental lots regarding a police asking to come on to our lot in Texas?

Public Comments

1. Temporary lots? They can enter the lot, but not your RV without probable cause, a warrant, or your permission

2. In most places, an occupied RV is treated like a home and the rules regarding homes apply. As to the lot, however, whether the lot is rented or not a cop can come into the open area surrounding the RV. If the owner gives permission, then he has double authority.

3. If police ask to do anything then they do not have probable cause. You can tell them no. And then don't believe anything they say after that. If they have probable cause to make an arrest or search/seizure then they will not ask, they will do. But you can not physically stop them from making an illegal arrest or search/seizure. Nor do you have to tell the police anything. If you are arrested then you must tell him your name, date of birth and residence when asked (don't lie about who you are there is more to that). Only when you are driving do you have to give him your id. The police want you to believe this is 1930's Germany and that you have to do what they want. Don't be scared of the badge. If you know what you can and can't do, it takes away their power trip.
