Camper van?

I wanna get a camper van but the VW one is a bit unreliable for my liking. I'd like something that I can Sleep in. (maybe have seats that fold into a bed) and a sink and maybe a toilet. What would you suggest? An old gmc or something would be nice

1. Dathusai do small camper vans but i love VW's i even have a VW car i would buy one of them over any other anyday! If its not brand new any 2nd hand vechicle isn't reliable really unless you have it looked at

2. Hi hope I can help in some way, apparently theres always good touring vans in Kings road London, always take a good test drive wotever van you choose as your gonna do megamiles in it so you really want it to be comfortable/practical/economical/reliable,Ive had the pleasure of owning a VW devon camper(with liftup top) I found it fun to drive and practical for touring around etc,my only negative point was it was a 1.6 petrol and wasnt the most frugal of machines(always had to carry a petrol can as the guage was iffy)it was 1986 vg condition, sold her on as I got an offer i couldnt refuse, then I always missed it and was casually on the lookout for a replacement van,was at a local auction 1 night and noticed this camper parked way over the yard and had a good nosey around it,It was actually an ambulance converted and was obviously rust free as they have strong fibreglass type bodies, got it well worth the money and took a chance on it,the original engine would have been a V6 super guzzler but last owner had respectfully fitted a 2.5 Ford Direct Injection engine,The van had graphics and roofrack that you could climb up onto but you just couldnt hide the fact that it was an ex-ambulance,(not to every1s taste)Ive heard that the vw which is fitted with datsun bluebird diesel engine makes for a very reliable, pretty rust free van,my advice to you would be go check the papers and auctions, dont rule any make or model of van out as they are unique and each has had a very different life, pay ya money and take ya chance but before you part with any money take it for a real good long drive even if that means you putting some fuel into it,open your ears for rattles and open your eyes for rust/smoking etc etc hope this helps in your quest!

3. go to a dealership where they sell camper vans, and ask them. they will help you out better :D

4. Who told you the VW is unreliable.

I've had two and they were both superb. Also had a Fiat - not so good.
