What size wire (12-18 guage) to use for my RV battery run to my vehicle to charge it while driving?

I have an old pull behind trailer with an RV (deep cycle) battery I bought to run the electrical inside. The trailer does not have any wiring for a vehicle charge while driving. I am considering just running a wire with a connect near the other trailer lighting connect (Rear bumper) and running wire all the way to the battery. I dont know which size wiring I should use, or does it matter?

1. yes the distance your are running is 10 gauge minimum . perfer 8 gauge the way you are running this system . battery isolater , recommended

2. You will definitely need a battery isolator for this to work. You can't charge two batts. at same time. Go to auto supply and look at isolators ($30 or so) There will be instructions included. I would go with #14 wire just for the wear and tear protection. The charging only duty does not require a large wire.
