Car rental question - I need help!?
We live in Canada but we need to rent a car going to Texas. Are there ANY car rental places that don't restrict to you to driving in certain states with unlimited mileage. We're a responsible family of 5 that needs a car with ample room for this long trip. I am having such a hard time. A motorhome is out of the question - too expensive. What do you suggest?

1. type car rental in your web search box at the top of this page, it should eventually get you to a website that rates a number of major car rental chains, the vehicles and the prices a family of five and all its gear, would be at the minumum for comfort a mid sized suv possibly, although I would suggest a full sized suburban as it has plenty of room for luggage and anything else you need. As far as unlimited mileage, I assume you would pick a vehicle up at the airport, so start there, and find out what is available, also, from previous experience, you can often get better deals over a weekend, or by the week instead of the daily rate, and if you have insurance in canada for your cars, ask them if it covers you in the United states, this can save you the 25 dollar a day insurance ryder over here. best of luck, have a safe trip and stay out of trouble.
2. I'd just go to the yellow pages and start calling EVERY car rental in the book. Ask, ask, ask. Keep lots of notes. Pick their brains and make them earn their money! Try calling your credit card company. One of my cards, if I charge a rental car on it, I don't need the car rental insurance. Also, the cc company may have some other deals, like cheaper car rental.
