Has anybody ever been on an rv vacation know the approximate cost? My family was thinking about renting an rv in the new england area and driving to like Virginia for a week for 4 people. Does anyone have an idea of how much that would cost? Or the minimum or maximum cost? Thanks in advance.

Where in the US would you recomend I take a vacation on an RV with my kids age 12,8 and 1 year old? We are planing a family vacation next July.The kids love the idea of using an RV it is going to be their first time. Can someone help me plan a 10-14 day RV vacation? Starting from Long Island, NY, along with my wife of 30 years and a few friends, I intend to explore America by RV next Summer or Fall, via unconventional roadways. I want to visit sites of interest (historical landmarks, beautiful vistas, etc.), stop at little-known-local-popular eateries (where we can visit with non-tourists), attend local events in parks and theatres (artisitic, musical, cultural), and plenty of diversity. I want to experience America as-it-is. I'm looking for many people to respond with simple answers - one or two suggestions - like one diner/restaurant that you think is outstanding but you won't find in a Zagat's rated book or some travel related magazine article, its best dish and the location; or one event, like an undiscovered, annual Summer concert-in-the-park that people look forward to seeing, its location and date/time; or an annual Street Fair, or Art Exhibit, its location, and date/time. I have no itinerary; I'm starting here with an idea and a question.

How long does an RV Battery Charge Last? Assuming the the battery, wiring, and mechanics are in good condition, how long could I expect a charge to last on an RV battery? For instance, if the RV had been run during the day, how long would a charge last using an average amount of electricity? (Maybe a TV and a few lights.) A day? Just looking for a ballpark idea. We're considering a "sit down" vacation in our Class A RV, and would probably just run the engine a little bit each day to keep the battery charged. Wondering how long it would last.

We bought an RV this past year, it got wrecked shortly after. Can we claim it as a loss? Okay we bought an RV, due to a manufacturer problem it wrecked while taking vacation. Can I pull a RV trailer from MO to CO with a battery powered car? Why did my RV battery explode? I left Sunday for a camping vacation in the RV and on Sunday night at the campground my battery commited suicide. When I lifted up the edge of the casing one of the cells was significantly lower on water than the others, but there was still enough liquid in the cell that I could see it. This is the third camper I've owned, but the first one that has had a battery. Roughing it for me is when the TV gets no reception.

Direct TV receiver won't work at vacation home but works in RV, Why? I use my direct TV receiver in my RV when I travel but it will not work inside my vacation cabin. At my primary residence I have the latest Direct TV Dish, My RV has a KVH TracVision and my vacation cabin has a Slimline 5. I have tested the signal with a meter and it is great. The Receiver even downloaded software when I connected it to the cabins slimline but it just keeps searching. Whats wrong? It works fine in the RV outside the cabin. Any suggestions?

Last Vacation for my dad before he passes - where to rent an RV? My dad is losing the fight to cancer. He lost a lot of weight from 150 to 109 pounds and he even wears a bag for his stool. He is chemo right now but doesn't look like he is going to make it. My sister introduced an idea to take him out camping with all of his grandchildren and he would be comfortable because we would rent an RV. He didn't agree but that's his character (no sign of emotion) which means he really wants to go! Problem is we never went camping with an RV. What are some reasonably priced vacation spots? my family and i usually go to Maine but my mom was thinking we should try something different, and i agree. What are some fun and CHEAP-ish vacations in the US. Like we could probably spend no more than $800-$1000 i'm guessing. Can a person legally bring a handgun along on a vacation traveling around the U.S. by car or RV? Let's assume the gun is stored in a locked box, out of reach of the driver seat (such as in the trunk, or the back of an SUV or RV). I'm not talking about walking around different cities with it concealed, or anything like that. Perhaps the person wants to bring the gun along just for fun, to shoot target practice at various ranges around the U.S. Or perhaps they want to have it available to them for self-defense, considering they'd be traveling to parts of the country they aren't familiar with and could end up accidentally in high-crime areas. etc etc etc So, is this legal? Or will some states have gun laws so restrictive that it would be illegal to carry a handgun into their state, even if it's left in the vehicle? Thanks for any information!
